2010 New Lancia Stratos
The Lancia Stratos was the legendary rallying car of the 70s, with unparalleled design, power and speed that wowed motor sports fans. And after 40 years since its first appearance, Lancia is planning to re-introduce the lightweight and high powered 2010 New Stratos in the automotive racing world.
With the vision of Michael Stoschek, the chairman of the Brose Group, shareholders and avid historic racing car collectors, the construction of the 2010 New Stratos started. Retaining its original appearance and speed with a few modern modifications has been set to roll out.
The roll cage manufactured to FIA standards is made from 2.5 mm-thick, 40 mm-wide diameter tubing welded into shorter aluminum chassis to improve handling precision and vehicular safety. On the New Stratos’ engine, components from the Ferrari 430 Scuderia are being used and customized as necessary for increased rigidity, better control with the 6-speed transmission and a new mechanical differential lock, an improved brake system and electro-hydraulic steering.
The current models are being studied and test-driven to determine speed, power and any other necessary modifications, but the manufacturers promise is to make the New Stratos a legend in its own right, like its predecessors.
